Local file handling

Slate Viewer opens supported files on your Mac. Slate Viewer does not upload file contents, document bodies, file paths, JSON keys, JSON values, table cells, or clipboard content to Slate Viewer servers.

Data we may receive

• Your email address when you submit the newsletter form, together with the page language, form source, consent version, and subscription timestamps.
• Support emails sent to [email protected], including the details you choose to include.
• Sanitized screenshots, sample files, or diagnostics you intentionally send to support.
• Apple processes App Store payments, downloads, refunds, and purchase history. This website does not receive your payment-card details.

Product-update emails

If you subscribe, we use your email address only for Slate Viewer release notes and product updates. Newsletter submissions are stored in a dedicated Cloudflare D1 database. We do not store your raw IP address; salted hashes are used only for abuse-prevention rate limiting and are removed during subsequent cleanup.

Your subscription is retained until you opt out or ask us to delete it. To unsubscribe or request deletion, contact [email protected].

Diagnostics

Slate Viewer may use local macOS logs for development and troubleshooting. These diagnostics are intended to record performance and result categories, not private document text. If you contact support, please share sanitized samples when possible.

Third-party services

Slate Viewer uses Apple services for App Store distribution, Help Scout for support conversations, and Cloudflare for website hosting, newsletter storage, and privacy-first website analytics. This website does not use advertising trackers.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page visits, referrers, device and browser categories, and Core Web Vitals. Cloudflare Web Analytics is configured to exclude visitors located in the European Union.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies, cross-site identifiers, or advertising profiling, and it does not receive Slate Viewer file contents, file paths, newsletter form fields, or support messages. Analytics data is available only in aggregate form in the Cloudflare dashboard.
