Privacy Policy

Slate is designed as a local macOS reader. This page can be used as the App Store privacy policy URL for the first public release.

Local file handling

Slate opens supported files on your Mac. Slate does not upload file contents, document bodies, file paths, JSON keys, JSON values, table cells, or clipboard content to Slate servers.

Data we may receive

  • Support emails sent to [email protected], including the details you choose to include.
  • App Store purchase and restore status handled by Apple for the App Store version.
  • Direct license and customer portal data handled by Lemon Squeezy when direct purchase opens.

Diagnostics

Slate may use local macOS logs for development and troubleshooting. These diagnostics are intended to record performance and result categories, not private document text. If you contact support, please share sanitized samples when possible.

Third-party services

Slate uses Apple services for App Store distribution, Help Scout for support conversations, Lemon Squeezy for the future direct purchase portal, and Cloudflare for website hosting. We do not use website analytics in the first public website.
