Slate Viewer 1.0 - Mac App Store release

Released July 20, 2026. Version 1.0 is available on the Mac App Store and requires macOS 26.0 or later.

  • Reader support for Markdown, JSON, JSONL, TXT, CSV, and TSV files.
  • Markdown Quick Look preview for `.md` and `.markdown` files.
  • Reader themes, raw view, copy workflows, and file refresh handling.
  • App Store-safe licensing path with Apple purchase and restore handling.

Known limitations

  • PDF, DOCX, and HTML are not first-class reader formats in Slate Viewer 1.0.
  • The website does not currently offer a separate purchase, download, or license-key flow.
  • Quick Look is intentionally limited to Markdown for the first public release.
