Open the file locally

Use Finder Open With or open a file from Slate Viewer. Your document stays on your Mac while you read it.

Read a clear preview

Markdown, structured data, and delimited files can begin as readable content instead of a wall of source text.

Check the source when needed

Switch to Raw for the original text and use Light Edit for a small correction without turning the task into a project workspace.

Slate Viewer does not generate AI answers, sync your files to a cloud workspace, or replace a development environment. It gives the files you already have a local place to be read and checked.

Markdown Quick Look is available for Markdown files. JSON, JSONL, CSV, TSV, TXT, and LOG files open in Slate Viewer itself.
